Closing Time. No, not the Semisonic song from the late ’90s (though it’s probably stuck in your head now). I’m talking about real estate closing time.
You work so hard to get your home picture-perfect — every drawer organized, every surface spotless for showings. Then… YAY! An offer comes in and you accept! Cue the excitement… and the panic. Because now, it’s time to pack. And find your next home.
So, you box up everything you own, head to the title office, and sign your name about 47 times. Just like that, your home belongs to someone else. But wait—there’s more!
As the Semisonic song goes: “Closing time, every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.” Because right after selling comes the buying. And the unpacking. Followed by that inevitable moment when you open a box and think, “Why on earth did I pack this?”
Ray and I just went through it ourselves. As I mentioned last month, we sold our house and are now knee-deep in boxes in our new home. And because we apparently love chaos, we decided to paint the entire interior — every wall, ceiling, and even the closets. Why not, right?
If there’s one thing this experience reminded me of, it’s how much heart and hustle go into every move. Whether it’s your first home, your forever home, or something in between, I understand what it takes — emotionally and logistically — to make that transition. So when it’s your “closing time,” know that we're here to help you through every step (and maybe talk paint colors, too).
Stats & Data: Still Making Waves This Fall
Let’s take a quick look at what’s happening with pool homes (1,500–2,200 sq. ft.) across our coastal markets.
1. Bradenton:
Bradenton is showing solid activity with 114 homes currently available and nearly half that number (52) already under contract. Over the past six months, 245 have sold, including 46 just last month — a clear sign buyers are still diving in (pun intended) when the right home hits the market.

2. Venice:
Venice continues to show healthy movement too, with 96 active listings and 33 sold in the past 30 days. That’s roughly one in three active homes turning over each month — impressive stability that points to steady buyer confidence.

3. Punta Gorda:
Punta Gorda has the largest inventory at 176 listings, but interestingly, the number of new listings (39) nearly matches the number sold (30) in the past month. That balance suggests a market that’s replenishing as quickly as it’s moving — keeping options open for both buyers and sellers.
